Senior Mechanical Engineering position supports the R&D Robotics team in the design and development of innovative new products within surgical platforms. The role involves the application of design engineering principles, technical skills, team work and creative problem solving to design and deliver high quality innovative medical devices intended to improve patient outcomes and the quality of life for millions of people.

A Day in the Life

  • Be a part of a multidisciplinary team (Mechanical and Electrical engineers) that is responsible for developing surgical platforms.
  • Develop design improvements from design freeze and during mass-production.
  • Design, qualify, document and support V&V for: Assembly, test and calibration fixtures, Jigs and tools.
  • Lead the process for introducing a new product introduction to operations.
  • Build BOMs and support configuration control processes.
  • Creating work and testing instructions, production and assembly instructions.
  • Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
  • Provides technical evaluation and implementation plan input to the Corrective And Preventive Action (CAPA) program.
  • Develop robust processes for analyzing field failures & implementing corrective actions with engineering.
  • Lead technical Investigations.
  • Write technical documentations.
  • Support production line and field escalations.

Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least 4 years of Product design/NPI/Engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience with highly accurate machined parts, sheet metal parts and mechanisms.
  • Knowledge and application of GD&T including Tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • In-depth experience in CAD tools such as Solid works is expected.
  • Strong knowledge of metal and plastic component manufacturing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Hebrew& English)
  • Knowledge on Engineering Change management processes and PLM tools such as PTC Windchill.
  • Highly organized.
  • Strong initiative.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with ability to work on your own.
  • Passionate hands on approach.
  • Able to effectively work with cross functional teams in a multinational matrix organization.
 Nice to Haves
  • Medical device experience – in advantage.
  • Good understanding of medical device standards, guidelines and regulations, such as: ISO10993, IEC60601.
  • Experience designing and working with electrical motors (Stepper and DC).
  • Experience designing and working with pneumatic systems.
  • Experience designing wiring and cabling.
  • Experience with Process Validations and qualification of equipment IQ/OQ/PQ, pFMEA.
  • Experience with process optimization/improvement, lean manufacturing, 5S methodology, Root cause analysis methods.
  • Good understanding of medical device standards, guidelines and regulations.
