You will be a staff member of the Focus Factory management team, you will work with Factory leadership on strategy, lead process improvement projects at various levels, assists in training, organize and coordinate Operational Excellence (OpEx) activities, work with Operational Excellence Managers and Plant Leaders to select / prioritize projects and is responsible for all applicable metrics and reporting.

A Day in the Life

 

 

 

You will:

 

  • Drive Operational Excellence in all areas of our Factory operations utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, , Visual Workplace, COS/MOS and Statistical Analysis techniques.
  • Lead plant improvement projects of significant size and scope.  Mentor project team and project leaders on project progress and completion.
  • Lead Policy Deployment cascade through factory and partner with Factory Leadership on strategy and goal development and execution.
  • Assist plant management in selecting projects, project/team leaders and champions that align with business/functional goals and strategies.
  • Participate on the Cost Savings Core team, keeping the Cost Savings Hopper updated with new project ideas and maintain track / status of existing OpEx projects. 
  • Drive and own cost savings activities and projects.
  • Communicate Operational Excellence information/news to plant personnel.
  •  Assist in the coordination and deployment of the plant Operational Excellence plan for COS and MOS Workflow Maturity.
  • Lead / coach COS conversion teams through COS playbook activity for a successful “Go Live” results.
  • Work with NPD teams on the Design for COS of new Production Cells.
  •  Assist leadership in establishing baseline and target metrics for key processes.
  • Coordinate, and conduct as applicable, training in key Operational Excellence and Problem Solving areas.
  • Supports the Operational Excellence Manager in the overall deployment of OPEX training, best practice sharing
  •  Assist project analysts on project feasibility analysis to ensure ideas are moved to the appropriate stage
  • Lead, collaborate, coordinate team problem-solving by performing process analysis, root cause analysis and other activities aimed at having a better understanding of the problem
  • Attend daily tiered meeting and participate actively on facilitating the process for team problem-solving
  • Coach/perform the Work Flow Maturity assessment across the site as scheduled
  • Participate/ guide team FMEA and establish process to follow up on completion plan for each event
  • Participate in the Waste-Walk activity and define action plan for follow up on opportunities for improvement

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • BS/BA degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other related field of study with a minimum of 2 years of business operations and/or plant manufacturing or engineering experience which includes demonstrated process improvement program success.   Green Belt, Black Belt or Lean Training

  • Lean Sigma Green/Black Belt certification or Equivalent

  • Experience with Medtronic’s COS & Cell Conversions

  • Experience with Medtronic’s MOS & Policy Deployment

  • Ability to lead and/or coordinate high-impact process improvement projects.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Proven skills working with cross-functional teams and presentation skills.

  • Proven ability to solve as well as lead others through complex problem resolution.

  • Demonstrated transformational abilities utilizing 5S and Visual Factory techniques. 

  • History of delivering tangible results measured in employee satisfaction and engagement, financial savings, cycle and lead time reductions.
