A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides project management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity teams.
  • Facilitates these teams in the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Medtronic's position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost.
  • Mitigates risk, leverages technology and purchase power, improves processes and systems, and reduces overall cost of ownership and acquisition.
  • Negotiates, establishes and monitors supplier agreements.
  • Manage ISM Operations and Dashboard. Ensure performance is defined in SLA’s and measured and monitored on KPI’s agreed with internal stakeholders.
  • Lead Ariba implementation and ISM transformation across the Region with the help of the Global ISM Organization.
  • Support 1-2 (LatAm) ISM Category Management in developing Category Sourcing Strategies and Plans, provide Region -specific requirements and take care of implementation within the Region, drive compliance and Contract Management.
  • Facilitates ISM Cluster Leaders in the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Medtronic's position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost. 
  • Negotiates and drive cost savings initiatives, establishes and monitors strategic supplier agreements

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


·       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

·       Substantial professional experience (> 10 years) in Indirect Sourcing, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

·       Advance experience in SAP, ARIBA and P2P. 

·       Working experience in Sourcing, preferably within an international (indirect spend) matrix environment, comfortable with working in cross-functional teams.

·       Knowledge of the Indirect Categories in terms of products, services and contracts.

·       Knowledge of Indirect Sourcing in terms of business dynamics, markets, innovation requirements and growth opportunities is a plus.

·       Comfortable in working with MS office and especially MS Excel and big data files.

·       Dispose of good negotiating/communication/presentation skills and interpersonal & influencing skills.

·       Change management capabilities.

·       Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.

·       Fluent in English and Spanish.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience with companies in the Medical Industry or similar regulated industry preferred.

  • CPM certified is a plus.
