In this exciting role as a Sr Reliability Engineer you will have the opportunity to work within the quality function on product development programs in the Aortic Business Unit. There will also be continuous improvement projects especially as they pertain to pre-market deliverables.

The Cardiac and Vascular Group brings all of our cardiac and vascular businesses together into one cross-functional, collaborative operating unit to employ the full breadth of our talent, technologies, products, services, and solutions to address the needs of customers and patients across the globe.

The Aortic business offers treatment for vascular abdominal and thoracic aortic disease through catheter-based procedures and diagnostic technologies.

 

 

A Day in the Life  

  •   Responsibilities includes analyzing, coordinating and conducting technical studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs.
  • Recommending design or test methods and validation of test methods for achieving required levels of product reliability.
  • Completing risk analysis studies of new design, use and processes.
  • Leading necessary root cause and corrective action measures to meet acceptable reliability standards.
  • May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks.
  • May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data. 

Responsibilities may also include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs.
  • Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.
  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
  • Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives.
  • As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 4+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality OR Advanced Degree Engineering, Science or technical field with 2+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality.


Nice to Have
  • Experience working in multiple functional disciplines e.g.: Design assurance, Quality engineering, Process development, R&D, Clinical/ Regulatory ideally in Class III devices
  • Proficient in the use of program management tools, and the application of continuous improvement methodologies such as six sigma or equivalent
  • Proven ability to interface with and influence executive leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management best practices.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment or initiative.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of technical and business PDP requirements
  • Clinical Acumen particularly as it relates to Endovascular therapies
