We are hiring a Sr Strategic Projects Manager who will be responsible for leading projects in diverse areas of the business with rigorous, fact based strategic decisions within the Aortic Business which is part of the larger Aortic, Peripheral & Vascular (APV) part of  Medtronic. Success in the role will rely heavily on the ability to manage cross-functional teams and prioritize projects, synthesize complex data and information into succinct findings, derive strategic insights, and communicate findings and perspectives to all levels of the organization, including senior and executive management.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and self-motivated, with excellent analytic, facilitation, and communication skills (both oral and written).  You will be able to work with team members across Medtronic, with emphasis on coordination of business unit and regional activities, to manage the development of processes, tools and outputs that support strategic decision making and execution.  You will also act as an independent voice to the GM and assist in facilitating effective decision making, coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives and manage the weekly and quarterly GM staff meeting agenda, actions, minutes, and goals in accordance with the strategic plan.  In this role you will be responsible for supporting presentations to the employee base, board of directors and other internal and external partners as needed. This role functions as a Chief of Staff and  reports directly to the Aortic General Manager.

A Day in the Life:

•Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses in operations, marketing, business development, and product development in support of strategic direction and communicate recommendations around issues; support analyses with sound data collection 
•Coordinate and lead strategic initiatives among cross-functional groups/ businesses and regional partners through strategic thought and active participation in decision analysis using internal and external data, problem formulation, meeting facilitation, data collection, and communications to senior management 
•Manage the smooth functioning of GM’s staff by coordinating the weekly/quarterly agenda, actions and minutes, to help facilitate effective decision making and execution of strategy and in alignment with the vision and strategic direction of the organization.
•Collaborate with senior management to develop annual and quarterly goals for the team, track progress and report on performance.
•Lead the development of content for quarterly business updates to the employee base; manage the quarterly all employee meeting activities and ensure the voice of employees are being reflected in presentations.
•Attend global business reviews and support regional teams with qualitative and quantitative analysis for strategic decision making.
•prepare (via cross-functional stakeholder management) the preparation of quarterly business reviews and strategic plans.  
•independently develop and share insights to help position business for success

Key Accountability Examples:
•Aortic Strategy Deployment/Management:  (Goals, KPIS, Master calendar, Dashboard & Templates)
•Meetings: Weekly Staff, Quarterly Offsite
•Presentation/ ‘Pitch’ Decks for QBR/executive and all employee meetings
•Analysis:  conduct a market attractiveness assessment on an emerging geography and present build/buy recommendation for local investment

•Minimum travel requirements up to 50%

Must Have: 

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years of experience in strategy, innovation, marketing, business development, product development, operations, finance or consulting role (5 years with Advanced Degree)
•Cross functional team leadership experience 
•Program or project management experience

Nice to Have: 

•MBA or Master's Degree
•Experience in medical devices, healthcare, management consulting and/or investment banking desirable
•People or program management experience leading or managing teams and change initiatives
•Experience generating creative new business ideas and strategies
•Outstanding analytical abilities, financial acumen and business judgment
•Experience in financial modeling including the ability to perform sensitivity analyses and critically interpret the results
•Experience with developing strategic business plans
•Experience with general management and leadership across multiple business or functional teams.
•Broad practical experience across multiple professional disciplines within the organization, combining theory, past practical experience and the organization’s business practices.
•Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
