This role will serve as a partner with the Vice Presidents, Strategy and Business Development with in the Cardiac Rhythm & Heart Failure (CRHF) Business unit to set the strategic direction of the organization.  You will seek out new vectors of differentiations, therapies diagnostics, technologies and intellectual property that will support and accelerate the execution of CRHF business unit growth.  You will help identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with third parties and is responsible for structuring and execution of strategic vision and partnerships, acquisitions and licenses.  In this role you will help drive the overall alignment and prioritization of external opportunities with internal capabilities and vision as well as proactively scour the market for companies and technologies to fill identified strategic and technical gaps. A Day in the Life: 

• Partner with CRHF business unit leadership to identify strategic needs and potential target companies/technologies.
• Perform strategic and market analysis for proposed transactions, including assessment of CRHF strategic objectives and proposed transaction relationship/fit with those objectives.
• Develop financial and valuation models for proposed transaction and identify and assess opportunities and risks of proposed transactions including financial, operational, and integration synergies/issues.
• Manage all business unit due diligence activities in partnership with Corporate Development.
• Defines corporate objectives and long-range plans to achieve growth and financial profitability through acquisitions, disposals, mergers, joint ventures, strategic alliances and licensing agreements.
• Identifies, investigates, and analyzes possible acquisition, merger, and licensing opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Acts as corporate representative and negotiator in initial contact with candidates for merger, acquisition, or licensing.
• Manages on-going licensing agreements, acquisitions, and/or alliances as the business representative for the company to extract the most value from the relationship.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years’ experience in a Finance, Upstream Marketing, Management Consulting, Business Development, Strategy, M&A or Analyst role  (5 years with Advanced Degree) 
• Business “Deal” experience (investment banking, private equity or venture capital)

Nice to Have:

• Masters or MBA
• Experience working with and presenting to all levels of management including business unit GMs, business presidents and group presidents
• Experience negotiating NDAs or other business agreements
• Cross-functional team leadership experience
