Danvers, MA - based (hybrid 2-3 days on-site per week)

Medtronic Interventional Vascular & Structural Heart (IV&SH) provides interventional devices to treat coronary arteries that are blocked by atherosclerotic plaque and devices and therapies to treat structural defects of the heart. 

We are currently looking for a Sr Supply Chain Planner  to support our manufacturing operations located in Danvers, MA to develops and implement short, medium and long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues, production location decisions, and supply in support of business growth.

  • Supports business execution of on going and new production that include promotional activities, forecast and coordination for key events, new product launches, phase out, material constraints, last time buys/builds and network redesigns.
  • Monitors key performance indicators, analyzes cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.  Works closely with internal plants, demand planners, regional planners and distribution centers to ensure product availability.
  • This position requires independent decision-making with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze, develop, and implement long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues and production location decisions in support of business goals.
  • Support business execution of new programs and initiatives that include promotional activities, forecast and coordination for key events, new product launches, and network redesigns.
  • Monitor key sales and operations planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.Lead Sales and Operations Planning (SIOP) process for specific Contract Manufacturers/ Original Equipment Manufacturers (CM/OEM) &/or manufacturing sites
    •Accountable for product availability, back orders, inventory management and global distribution network
    •Becoming an expert in coverage area.  Working towards understanding relationships with site, both internal and external and the products that are made.
    •Ability to integrate production capabilities and delivery calendars into supply/inventory plans using multiple methodologies including master scheduling, -every-part-every-interval, pull, etc.
    •Perform lean problem solving within group/team and cross-functional environment. 
    •Understands and updates complex spreadsheets with formulas (vlookups, if conditions, etc.)
    •Develop working relationships with regional supply chain and demand planners throughout world, cross-business partners and key functional areas to continue to build the organization.
    •Communicates with group/team, plant supply chain, regional planners, demand planners and management.  
    •Communications to Manager/Director/VP reviewed; working towards “managing up”. 
    •Give presentations, both formal and informal, on product availability, site performance, and SIOP topics.
    •Ensure understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable.  Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high quality work.
    •Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.  Full knowledge of industry practices.
    •Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.  May refer to established precedents and policies.
    •Work is performed under general direction.  Participates in determining objectives of assignment.  Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.  
    •Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.  
    •Represents organization as a prime contact on projects.  Interacts with both peers and senior internal personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree require.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • •2 +years SAP system working experience
  • •Strong Data Analytics expertise, Excel
  • •IT system structure work experience
  • •Project Management experience
  • •Experience working in a regulated environment 
  • •Basic understanding of Import/Export
  • •Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)
  • •APICS Certification
  • •MBA
