A Day in the Life

The Strategic Sales Operations Consultant develops and communicates the strategic, financial, and administrative implications of proposed and/or implemented pricing policy. Develops price recommendations to ensure compliance with policy. Recommends positions for pricing and reimbursement strategies for current and future products across all relevant customer and market segments. May review competition to determine price of new product. Provides input on final pricing contracts. The Consultant is responsible for the strategic development of performance based tools and processes that utilize appropriate metrics to execute the US RTG Sales organization plans and maximize the performance of the field sales organization. This position will also support the development and execution of programs, initiatives and tools that use appropriate metrics and facilitate the accomplishment of sales organization strategic goals. The Consultant will also be responsible for Sales Analytics and will develop, implement, and monitor sales planning and performance tools for the field sales organization.  This role will assist the Director, Commercial Sales Operations in creating the vision and providing strategic direction for the development of best-in-class analytics, forecasting, alignment and deployment systems for the US RTG Sales Organization.


Responsibilities may include the following: 


·Provide financial and strategic support to Regional Vice-Presidents, District Sales Managers, 

 and Business leaders to maximize revenue by price increase and market share.

·Provide quarterly analysis of price/volume/mix trends across RTG business units including 

 insight, recommendations and presentations to sales and BU leadership to guide and shape 


·Lead and participate in special pricing programs of moderate to significant complexity 

 working independently with ownership of deliverables and schedules.

·Develop and maintain pricing tools to improve quality and timeliness of contracting team 

 responses to RFPs. Coach end users on adoption

·Perform ad hoc deep dives on pricing related issues of significant complexity. Requires 

 integration of data from multiple sources. Need to understand business drivers. Gather data, 

 analyze, provide insight, prepare report and present recommendations.

·Support annual price increases with analyses, tool development, process development and  

 field education.

·Provide financial leadership/direction to the regional sales management staff and 

 develop/implement revenue growth plans in partnership with sales leadership.

·Review regional business results and provide actionable guidance to sales management.

·Create key metrics and drivers to ensure compliance across the field related to  

 Contracts,  Quality, Training, other Admin measurements

·Frequent interaction with internal or external contacts at various organizational levels 

 concerning ongoing operations or changes relating to processes or program. Leads briefings 

 and meetings with internal and external contacts.

·Collaborate with RVP and HR on sales force alignment, performance and compensation  


·Create robust and consistent operating mechanisms for managing RVP/BU communications  

 across BU 

· Identify opportunities to meet customer and business needs. Clearly articulate a path 

 forward even in highly ambiguous situations. Connect key data points, observe trends, and  

 make the necessary trade-offs to move the business forward.  Appreciate, yet overcome 


· Establish best practices for Sales Operations functions related to driving revenue growth and 

  share across RTG

· Key Commercial Partner to Support functions including but not limited to Total Rewards, 

  Sales Finance, Compensation, HR, Operations, IT, and Marketing

· Support Field Sales team Field Sales Insight Board initiatives

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance and 10+ years of Financial and/or Contracting experience; or
  • Master's Degree and 8+ years of Financial and/or Contracting experience.
Nice to Have

• MBA strongly preferred.

• 5 years health care experience.

• Ability to work well under pressure and deliver tough messages aimed at enabling the sales 

  management team and RTG to succeed

• Sound analytical skills, ability to manipulate and interpret data

• Solid business acumen

• Self-motivated and goal oriented.

• Tactful, exercises independent judgment and discretion.

• Intellectual agility and ability to learn fast

• Excellent written/oral communication & presentation skills.
