Medtronic’s Fort Worth, TX location is looking for a Technician III (1st shift) whose primary responsibility will be providing critical customer support on testing for development and production impacting situations. This position performs a variety of routine and non-routine tasks in an electrical, imaging, mechanical, quality, or other technical areas. The Technician completes complex tests requiring judgment in determining work methods, interpreting test results and writing clear and accurate test result reports. May have responsibility for minor projects and assists on assignments that are moderately complex to complex in nature where judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

A Day in the Life:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas specific to complex testing equipment.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems related to complex testing equipment.
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Performs adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed related to complex test equipment.

Must Have – Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
High School Diploma is required.

Nice to Have:
  • Minimum 2 years of vocational or technical education or certification.
  • Experience in Mechanical Testing, Instrumentation, Data Acquisition, Automation, and Inspection
  • Basic Electronics knowledge
  • National Instruments/LabVIEW and/or other DAQ experience
  • LIMS experience
  • Package and/or Materials Testing experience
  • Familiarity with ASTM and ISO test specifications
  • Experience working in FDA & ISO 13485 regulated industry
  • Mechanical and electrical print reading skills for use in diagnosing and correcting equipment/tooling issues
  • Aptitude for quickly learning and assimilating a broad array of information
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience in medical product development and manufacturing / assembly operations
