POSITION PURPOSE

The Training/Education Manager, Regional Delivery will report directly to the Sr Training/Education Manager, Americas CEP.

 

This role will be responsible to execute the global programs within Commercial Enterprise Programing.  Focus will be on Medtronic Sales Leaders and Field Sales organization by enhancing their commercial and leadership capabilities while executing cost effective world-class sales development initiatives and programs.

 

The Regional Training Manager is responsible for organizing and implementing training and continually evaluating and measuring the effectiveness of all training. Collaborate with cross-functional partners towards achieving business goals. Recommend improvements in all training programs based on measurable metrics and evaluations.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

The following responsibilities are minimum requirements for this position:

1.        Plan, execute, and evaluate all phases of sales training classes

2.        Assist in the creation of sales training curriculums (as subject matter experts) and support materials for both new hires and current sales managers and representatives

3.       Continually evaluate and improve all facets of the sales training process with measurable results

4.       interface with sales and marketing to ensure training programs are in alignment with strategic imperatives

5.       Attend sales meetings and culture circles labs in support of CEP initiatives

6.       Pursue highest standards of support and service to exceed both internal and external customer expectations

7.       Implementation of initiatives and programming to develop commercial capabilities in alignment with the CEP strategy

8.       Influence the design, development, and implementation of initiatives and programming to enhance the commercial and leadership capabilities

  1. Collaborate with Medtronic Medical Education, Marketing and Field Sales Training teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all Sales Manager and Selling Skills programs and operations

10.   Ensure all training content is to date and properly reflect selling philosophy and models

  1. Maintain partnership with Human Resources to ensure alignment on development skills and behaviors

12.   Continually assess the changing needs of the Field Sales organization by performing a needs analysis to identify gaps in current and desired performance

13.   Demonstrate thought leadership and collaboration by partnering with (global) regional delivery teams to ensure consistency and efficiency.

14.   Time will be managed and prioritized by geography/business/programming allocations

  1. Drive innovation and employ latest technologies to improve training efficiencies by leveraging Training Operations and Commercial Operations teams to minimizing out of territory time

16.   Manage operations budget within guidelines

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

·       Bachelor’s Degree Required; Advanced degree in relevant field preferred (MBA, MA Ed, MA, MS or PhD)

 

Experience:

·       5+ years of Sales Experience required or 3+ years of Sales Management Training Experience required

·       3+ years of experience in a role specific to Professional Training, Sales Training or Medical Education preferred

·       Experience as a Field Sales Trainer, Peer Coach, Mentor or equivalent role preferred

·       Large group facilitation experience preferred

·       Experience in medical device industry preferred

·       Knowledge of the Medtronic Regional Structures preferred

·       Experience driving change initiatives

·       Regional experience preferred

 

Skills/Qualifications:

·       Strong working knowledge of selling skills and sales leadership development processes

·       Strong facilitation, communication and influencing skills

·       Self-motivator and dynamic leader who can apply ingenuity and innovative thinking to define solutions to business problems

·       Demonstrated leadership/coaching skills

·       In-depth knowledge of the field sales organization, structure, processes and culture

·       Excellent influencing, interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills required

·       Proven ability to independently lead multiple, complex projects concurrently

·       Proven ability to negotiate challenges from management to ensure project success is not compromised

·       Ability to build cross-functional engagement

·       Demonstrated strategic thinking skills, creating and delivering a vision

·       Excellent planning and organizational skills

·       Sensitivity to multicultural dimensions, particularly different learning and thinking styles

·       Strong track record and demonstration of results

·       Ability to maintain an ethical mindset and conduct business with integrity

·       Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
