MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

·       Bachelor’s degree in medical illustration plus 2-3 years of experience producing high-quality medical visualizations, including digital formats for online or mobile device delivery. An advanced specialized degree may count toward the experience.

·       Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in design (e.g., graphics, marketing, or other discipline) with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in scientific or medical illustration will be considered; or a combination of 5 years of experience in scientific or medical illustration, and related training that provides the required knowledge and skills.

·       In-depth knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and medical illustration principles.

·       Excellent drawing skills; sketching and silhouette understanding.

·       Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite (CS) Photoshop and Illustrator as well as tools for effectively sharing/prototyping/collaborating on visual assets.

·       Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

·       Understanding of technology and ability to learn new software quickly.

·       Strong creative and technical problem-solving skills.

·       Strong working knowledge of basic graphic design skills and principles including color theory, digital and print layout and composition, typography, image editing.

·       Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to collaborate across functional areas to handle multiple illustrations, animation, and design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

·       Strong interpersonal and project management skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment and with people across/at varying levels in the organization.

·       Flexible with a “can do” attitude and can remain professional under high pressure situations.

·       Ability to work independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approach to solutions.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Compelling portfolio or work must be submitted for consideration.

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

·       Master's degree from an accredited graduate program in medical illustration/biomedical communications preferred.

·       Board Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI) desired.

·       Two or more years’ experience in professional graphic design working in print, web and digital media.

·       Strong knowledge of graphic design, typography, color theory, layout, and storyboarding.

·       Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (CS) InDesign, After Effects, and Premier.

·       Experience in the integration of instructional materials such as video, graphics, animations, and interactive media elements into eLearning courses/web content.

·       Prior experience working on projects for pharmaceutical and/or medical device manufacturers a plus.

·       Experience in eLearning and instructional design methodology.

·       Experience developing eLearning training using tools such as Articulate 360 RISE, Storyline or similar development platforms.

·       Familiarity with Workfront or similar project management system(s).



ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

 

Reports to Senior Manager of Digital Learning Innovations

Work closely with cross-functional partners and subject matter experts (SMEs)

Works closely with Instructional Design and Project Management leads

Works occasionally with business unit and/or corporate Creative Services teams

Minimal travel requirements
